Altogether it was a fantastic weekend for local boxers and Priestfield Boxing Club.
Speaking of the weekend’s action, they told us, “First up was our professional Brandon Grant against 2 time major title challenger in Chris Liddell. A brilliant performance from Brandon, the 4th round was toe to toe from both of them and had the crowd on their feet, it was Brandon who got his hand raised, winning every round as he continues on his path and following his dreams. Well done Brandon lad!”
“Next was our Ben McGoldrick competing in the final of the Boxing Scotland, Western District Championships this weekend at the Firhill Sports Centre, Glasgow. Ben boxing at 63:5kg – Elite Category against a skilful southpaw in Tristan Phibey from The Edge, Glasgow. It was always going to be a cracker and a battle of the southpaws with Ben winning on a 3/2. A great contest by both boxers. …and the NEW…Western District Champion… Ben McGoldrick!”
