Glorious Weekend of Boxing

Local boxers from Priestfield Boxing Club had a remarkable weekend. Brandon Grant triumphed against Chris Liddell in a thrilling professional match, winning all rounds. Ben McGoldrick became the Western District Champion after a competitive fight against Tristan Phibey, winning by a close 3/2 decision. Both boxers received praise for their performances.

Champ! Well done Callum Bell

Callum Bell from Blantyre has won the Western District light heavyweight title for the fourth time while boxing for The Unit ABC in Lesmahagow. Additionally, he received the Rab Bannan memorial award for best youth boxer. The club is proud of his achievements as he prepares for senior competitions in January.

Local Teen Crowned Boxing Champ

Thirteen-year-old Cole Higgins has become the first Novice Champion from East Kilbride Boxing Academy after winning the Boxing Scotland Novice Championships. His journey, marked by just two years of training, has transformed him from a shy boy into a champion, inspiring young athletes in Lanarkshire. He aims for further competitions.

Boxing News: Congratulations Ben McGoldrick

Ben McGoldrick from Priestfield Boxing Club delivered a stellar performance, winning the William Wallace Box Cup final by split decision against Hapzari Bongani from O’Neil’s Boxing Club. The match was competitive, with each boxer winning a round before Ben clinched victory in the third round. Congratulations to the champion!

Geo Hamilton – Champion

Geo Hamilton has won the William Wallace Box Cup 54kg championship. Training at Blantyre Miners ABC, Geo showcased exceptional skill and determination. He is seen with his coach, Drew, celebrating this significant achievement. The event was supported by sponsors Premier Mo’s Blantyre and Boxing Alliance Scotland.

Blantyre Boxing Clubs Shine in Scottish Championships

Blantyre boxing clubs had a successful weekend, highlighted by George Hamilton’s victory as the 57kg Scottish Champion. O’Neils secured five golds and three silvers, with notable performances from Jacob Robb and Adam Patton. Priestfield saw JJ Cunningham and Logan Curivan win titles, while Kavey Azizi also triumphed. Overall, it was a commendable effort by all boxers.
