Local Teen Crowned Boxing Champ

13-year-old Cole Higgins has achieved incredible success after taking part in the Boxing Scotland Novice Championships, held over the last two weekends at Ravenscraig. A 2nd-year pupil at John Ogilvie High School, Cole has been training for just two years with East Kilbride Boxing Academy — and now proudly holds the title of Scottish 2012 46kg Novice Champion.

Cole’s win is a landmark moment for his club, as he becomes East Kilbride Boxing Academy’s first-ever Novice Champion. His mother Sharon, shared her pride commenting to Blantyre Telegraph:

“As a family, we are so proud of Cole. He’s gone from a shy boy with no confidence to a Champion in just two years. Next for Cole will be more fights and new tournaments in the New Year. We couldn’t be prouder and want to thank everyone at EK Boxing Academy for their amazing support.”

Congratulations, Cole! A true inspiration for young athletes across Lanarkshire! 👏

💬 How inspiring is that? What advice would you give to young people chasing their dreams?
