Road Policing officers in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Blantyre on Thursday, 30 October, 2025.
Around 5.35pm, a 61-year-old man was driving a white Volkswagen Caddy van on Sydes Brae, when the vehicle crashed.
Emergency services attended, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearby residents told us that the road was closed off for some time with police remaining in the area through the evening.
Sergeant John Houston said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and we are providing them with support.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and we would ask anyone who witnessed this crash and has yet to speak with police to please contact us. Anyone with relevant dash-cam footage is also asked to come forward.
“If you can help, please contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2711 of 30 October.”
