Forty years ago today, Shakin’ Stevens released “Merry Christmas Everyone”! A song that has become as familiar to December as fairy lights and frosty mornings. It’s remarkable how a track born in 1985 still fills shops, radios and living rooms with the same cosy nostalgia.
What’s striking is how quickly time moves. Many of us first heard this song as children, yet it continues to soundtrack new memories for generations who weren’t even born when it topped the charts.
