Here’s a heartwarming story to end the weekend on.
You may remember a couple of weeks ago we reported about 5 little kittens who had been abandoned on Auchinraith Road, Blantyre. On the coldest of evenings, the kittens were thankfully saved and since then, have been nursed back to health thanks to the care and dedication of the Scottish SPCA.
One kitten in particular is doing very well and yesterday, after careful adoption, settled into its forever home with the McAllister family.
Found alone and vulnerable, ‘the kitten ‘Luna’ as she is now known was taken into SSPCA care where she received round-the-clock attention, warmth and vital treatment. Slowly but surely, her strength returned — and with it, her playful personality. The family told us tonight, “The staff couldn’t have been better during our adoption process. Luna is full of energy and curiosity.” The name Luna, a fitting choice for a little fighter who shone through the toughest start.
The McAllister family are thrilled with their new addition, and mentioned she’s already making herself comfortable. From exploring cosy corners to curling up for naps, Luna is thriving in her new surroundings and enjoying all the affection she missed out on early in life.
Luna’s story is a powerful reminder of the difference SSPCA rescue work and responsible rehoming can make, turning heartbreak into hope, one small meow at a time!
