Ban on Junk Food Adverts

We’ve been looking at things changing in the UK in 2026.

Bans on Junk Food adverts have come into effect. Since last October, children have been subjected to fewer unhealthy food advertisements on TV and online due to a voluntary initiative by advertisers, ahead of the full ban starting this week.

The ban will restrict high fat, sugar or salt (HFSS) food and drinks from being advertised on television between 5.30am and 9pm, and at any time online. Products specifically which experts deem to be contributing towards childhood obesity.

Outdoor adverts, such as on posters or billboards are not affected.
