Here’s a nice story to start the weekend with! A local delivery driver has been warmly praised after going above and beyond to support a pregnant customer.
Craig Brown, who works at Asda Blantyre, took extra time during his delivery route to assist the expectant mum, not only bringing her shopping indoors, but also unpacking it and helping put everything away.
The customer’s husband was so grateful that he shared his thanks via Asda’s TellAsda feedback site, keen to ensure Craig’s “can-do attitude” was recognised.
Craig, who has been part of the Asda Blantyre team for 23 years, said: “It was really kind of the customer’s husband to get in touch with the store. I honestly don’t feel I did anything out of the ordinary — I know any of the Blantyre drivers would have done exactly the same.”
He continued, “I’m looking forward to delivering to them again and thanking them in person. I wish them all the very best as they welcome their new arrival.”
His team leader, Peter Gaitens, added: “I’m not surprised in the slightest that Craig went the extra mile — that’s just how he is every day. Congratulations, Craig. It was lovely of the husband to let us know too, as Craig would never seek praise himself. He’s genuinely a top guy.”
Well done Craig! This was above and beyond and most admirable!
