Local resident Laura McQuiggan is hoping to gather community support and volunteers to help her ressurrect Blantyre Summer Gala and the Christmas Lights Switch on events.
She told us, “Would anyone be interested in reforming the Blantyre Community Committee? With everything that happened during Covid, it feels like some of our community spirit sadly faded away.”
“I’d absolutely love to see us organising things like a Christmas light turn-on event and a summer gala again. It would be such a lovely way to bring everyone together, especially for our children.
Please comment if you’d like to be involved, even if you can only help occasionally. If there’s enough interest, I’m happy to organise an initial meeting to see what we could make happen.

Having been involved in organising these events previously, we would be happy attending an initial meeting to pass on lists of contacts, suppliers and anything which may be of assistance.
