A man has sadly died after falling from a tower block window in Motherwell.
Nine fire appliance responded late last night, Thursday 5th March to a house fire in the Grange Tower block. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a fire within a property on Shields Drive in Motherwell around 10.20pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
“Emergency services attended, and a man was seen having fallen from the window of a property. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no one else was injured.”
