The Jock Stein Pitches have been part of the Hamilton Community for many many years! However, the popular, enclosed football park is in a serious state of disrepair.
Hundreds of children from many grassroots clubs around the area and surrounding rely on these parks to be clean, safe and playable. Clubs pay SLC thousands upon thousands of pounds to play here yearly! Every single day there is rubbish, dogs dirt, glass and plastic lying around. The goals are falling to bits, the astro is in a shocking state and the fence is always smashed open.
Local children in this area deserve a place to play & a place to be proud of. Facilities around Hamilton are being upgraded, but this area seemns forgotten about. One resident told us, “Such a shame to see what was once a thriving place to be almost destroyed…. I would appreciate every signature to show SLC that this is not acceptable and our children deserve better!”
