The M74 is closed northbound at Junction 8 due to a road traffic incident, today Saturday 13th June 2026.
To accommodate this closure there is no access from Junction 7.

Diversion details added – Commence at Junction 8, exit motorway at off slip to roundabout – take 4th exit to A71 Ayr Road – continue on A71 – straight on at traffic lights at Shawsburn – continue to A72 junction at Cornsilloch Roundabout – take 1st exit to A72 Lanark Road – continue to ‘T’ junction with B7078 – turn right onto A72 Carlisle Road –continue and follow permanent signing to rejoin motorway at Junction 6 (Hamilton).
