Councillors have backed proposals for a major new community leisure hub within Calderglen Country park.
The proposals would see the addition of a 2 storey sports facility at the existing K Park Training Academy, located within the park itself.
The development hasn’t been without controversy. Planning had initially refused permission but Councillors overturned arguing towards the benefits of the development outweighing any negatives or concerns about greenbelt.
The application attracted 15 objections and one letter of support during the consultation process.
