Newhousemill Bridge (the Wee Bridge crossing from High Blantyre to East Kilbride) has been significantly damaged by a car.
The bridge parapet is somewhat destroyed forcing yet another road closure on the backroads. A full road closure is now in effect at Newhousemill Road is closed between East Kilbride and Hamilton.
Diversions are via High Common Road, A726, Commercial Road, A723 and Muttonhole Road and Sydes Brae. Repairs will be extensive judging by the extent of the damage. Hopefully anybody involved in that accident is ok.
