Harvest Thanksgiving Service this Weekend

Looking after one another and supporting those less fortunate is what makes our Blantyre community so special. This Sunday, there’s another opportunity to show that community spirit, with a simple act of kindness that could make a real difference to a local family.

Blantyre Old Parish Church in High Blantyre is celebrating its annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 18th October 2026, inviting donations of non-perishable food items to help those facing difficult times.

❤️ All food donations will go to Hamilton District Foodbank, helping individuals and families in need throughout our local area.

Importantly, the church wants everyone to know that you should only donate what you can afford. There is absolutely no expectation or judgement, recognising that financial pressures continue to affect many households.

Whether it’s a single tin of food, a few cupboard essentials or simply coming along to take part in the service, every gesture of kindness is appreciated.
