As the nation prepares to pause and remember those who gave their lives in service, Royal Mail has revealed a beautiful new collection of six commemorative stamps honouring Britain’s Armed Forces.
The striking designs feature artwork inspired by the colours of the red poppy, a symbol of remembrance recognised across generations.
Created by British artist Matthew Cook, the stamps depict moving scenes including First and Second World War soldiers, an RAF flypast, a Royal Marines bugler at the Cenotaph and wreath-laying ceremonies.
The artist himself has a military background, having served as a reservist and been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, making this collection particularly meaningful.
🌺 The stamps will be released on 11th November, Armistice Day, which this year also marks 110 years since the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
Each design serves as a small but powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice and service of those who defended our freedoms. The collection is available to pre-order through Royal Mail, with general release on Armistice Day.
❤️ A fitting tribute as communities across Scotland and the UK prepare for Remembrance Sunday.
💬 What do you think of these new designs? Do you collect commemorative stamps, or perhaps know someone who does?
