Blantyre residents are warmly invited to come together this Sunday, 8th November, at 3pm for the town’s annual Remembrance Service at High Blantyre Cemetery, with another service being hosted at the same time beside the Auchentibber War Memorial at Sydes Brae.
These poignant community gatherings offer an opportunity to pause, reflect and pay our respects to those who gave their lives in service, remembering the sacrifices made by generations before us.
Local organisations will be represented, with wreaths laid at the memorial as a mark of remembrance. Blantyre Telegraph will once again be laying a wreath on behalf of the whole community, paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Following the service, Blantyre Community Council has kindly arranged teas and coffees at the nearby Scout Hall on Cemetery Road, where residents are welcome to gather.
Blantyre’s service is one of 15 Remembrance parades and services taking place across South Lanarkshire this Sunday, including commemorations in East Kilbride, Hamilton, Larkhall, Uddingston and Bothwell.
🌺 Everyone is welcome. Perhaps you want to remember a loved one or honour our Armed Forces or simply stand alongside neighbours in quiet reflection….your presence will be appreciated.
We will remember them.
