Motorists are being warned of significant disruption on the M8 through Glasgow over the next two weekends as refurbished footbridges are lifted back into position. Evening and overnight closures are planned.
🚗 This weekend (7–8 November):
The M8 will be CLOSED in both directions between Junctions 22 and 24 from 6pm Saturday until 1pm Sunday.
🚗 Next weekend (14–15 November):
A much larger closure is planned, affecting all 16 lanes of the M8 between Junction 19 (Anderston) and Junction 24 (Helen Street). Parts of the M77 and M74 will also be affected.
Diversions will be in place through Glasgow’s south side, with drivers strongly advised to avoid the area and allow extra travelling time.
⚠️ Anyone travelling to Glasgow, including events at Ibrox, the SEC and OVO Hydro, should plan ahead and expect delays.
