A section of the M8 in Glasgow was closed after a 29-year-old man died following a fall from a bridge. Emergency services arrived around 3am on August 30, declaring him dead at the scene. Traffic is being diverted off the M8 at Junction 11 while investigations continue, causing delays for motorists.

NINE months of roadworks begin today on the M8 in Glasgow, including the installation of average speed cameras limiting speeds to 40mph. Affected bridges and slip roads near Hillington will be improved, causing delays of 6-8 minutes off-peak and 15-20 minutes during peak hours. Completion is anticipated by May 10, 2026.
