Misery for drivers who use the M8 through Glasgow as NINE Months of roadworks start today.
Installation of average speed cameras has commenced to limit speeds to 40mph on both carriageways, east and west. Amey says the move is needed to ensure the safety of both workers on the site, and the public in general.
Works will then commence to improve various bridges and slip roads near Hillington, Junction 26. The affected bridges are Hillington Interchange East, Hillington Interchange West, Hillington Rail and Hillington Slip.
Commuters can expect delays of a further 6 – 8 minutes in non peak times and between 15 – 20 minutes additional time at peak rush hours.
Work is expected to be complete on 10th May 2026.
