Improved gym and swimming facilities returning soon to Blantyre
Blantyre Leisure Centre will reopen its gym and swimming pool on 12 January after extensive renovations. Improvements include new cardio and resistance equipment, enhanced changing facilities, and the introduction of the BOX12 Pod for modern fitness experiences. Swimming lessons and Aquafit will also resume, with further upgrades planned for February.
Council Leader welcomes investment in Hamilton
South Lanarkshire Council’s leader announced a £20m investment for Hamilton town centre, part of a UK government initiative for community renewal in 14 Scottish areas. Festive Bin Collection
South Lanarkshire Council has announced changes to festive bin collection schedules. No collections will occur on December 25, 26, and January 1. Burgundy bins and bulk uplifts resume on January 5. Residents can dispose of real Christmas trees using normal collection days or by booking a free uplift between January 5-9.
