Village for Homeless opens in Rutherglen

Harriet Gardens, a £3 million housing village in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, has opened to support homelessness. Designed to house 15 residents in individual “nest homes,” it offers shared amenities like a gym and kitchen. This second Scottish village of its kind was developed by Social Bite and South Lanarkshire Council.

On Saturday, 22nd November, a festive event filled with free entertainment, games, and giveaways will take place, celebrating Santa’s arrival. Highlights include performances by The MacDonald Brothers, the KC Community Choir, local acts, and the ceremonial light switch-on by Depute Provost Bert Thomson and guests at 4:30 PM.
