Thanks to Councillor John McNamee who stopped off to pick up a copy of the new Blantyre Telegraph NEWSPAPER (and for the nice review below). Blantyre’s new newspaper was on sale at yesterday’s gala and in the collection tins ended up £105, with every penny of the paper sales going to The Haven Charity in Victoria Street, Blantyre. This excludes this month’s downloaded and sales offline around the town, which, when added to will be much more. If you’ve not got your 1st edition copy yet, you can download it from the “Shop Now” button at the top of this page. Thanks to Gavin Watson of Glasgow Road for printing. Next edition out on 15th July.
John added, “Celebrating the first offline edition of the Blantyre Telegraph Newspaper with it’s founder and editor Paul Veverka. The paper is packed full of bespoke Blantyre content and is an excellent read, with an added bonus, that all profits go to local good causes. I particularly enjoyed the Blantyre history column. I’m very confident this new local title will go from strength to strength and benefit many in the community thorough its philanthropic mission.”
