Ever wanted to switch on an ENTIRE town’s Festive Lights? Well THIS is your chance!
Blantyre Community Committee have launched an exciting appeal seeking an individual of any age, (child or adult) OR an entire family who would be worthy candidates for switching on the lights at the town’s festive event on Sunday 29th November 2015!
Nomination is by email only, following 3 simple steps below. Closing date is Saturday 14th November 2015 and you may nominate yourself and your family, or a friend, family member or colleague. The Committee will be choosing the winner on 15th November 2015, and their say is final.
The winning, lucky individual OR family will get to stand on the stage at the event in front of thousands of people and with a backwards countdown, get to PRESS THE BIG RED BUTTON, switching on Blantyre’s street and tree lights all at once!!! We’ll do everything automatically for you. All you need to do is turn up!
How to Enter:
Step 1. Choose who you want to nominate (please check they live in Blantyre and the availability of the individual or family first. They must be available on Sunday 29th November)

Step 3. On the same email, in no more than 75 words, please tell us why you think they should switch on the lights. (Tip: It could be the person or family have had a tough year, or are going through some troubling times through no fault of their own. It could be that they’re just a fantastic family and great people. Or perhaps its an individual who has put themselves first before others, or been heroic in some way? Its up to you!) Send the email!
