Phoenix Specialist Solutions are delighted to announce that they are relocating from Airdrie to Blantyre’s Industrial Estate.
The Street Lighting, Road Marking and Signage contractor are currently the sole company in the country offering all three specialisms ‘in house’. A one stop solution for many leading civils, building and utilities clients and contractors.
The name is very apt for in 2012 at a time when Scotland was gripped by recession, with reduced construction outputs, the company faced tough challenges, including redundancies with banks turning their back.
Undeterred however, the company sought support from the UK Steel Enterprise and the West Of Scotland Loan Fund, two amazing organisations that helped support them through small business loans. Phoenix also reached out to potential clients, suppliers and the Enterprise Development Officers at North Lanarkshire council and were overwhelmed by the help and support everyone offered.
In 2012, their dedicated team of 31 employees set out to earn a place in the Scottish Construction Industry.
First operating out of a couple of portacabins in a rented yard in Airdrie and armed with a fleet of leased plant and equipment, they managed to turnover £3m in the first year! Phoenix have grown year on year and now have a team of 38 amazing employees and on target to achieve a £6m turnover this year.
Jamie Houston, their Commercial Director told us, “Over the years we have done our utmost to reinvest back into the company, support local businesses and organisations in the community and donate to charity. With support from South Lanarkshire, we’ve already started in Blantyre appointing several local Lanarkshire based companies as part of £100k of renovation works to our new home.
We’d like to take this opportunity to say a warm “Hello” to all our new neighbours in Blantyre and thank everyone that has helped us to reach this momentous milestone in our journey.”
