Let’s turn our attention now to some positive, good news for Blantyre!
High Blantyre Pub, ‘The Cornerstone’ at 360 Main Street, has announced they will soon be opening a restaurant alongside their bar.
This will be FAR more than pub grub. For who will be heading up the kitchen? Well none other than Blantyre’s award winning chef Scott Arbuckle, who in recent weeks has become a dad (congratulations!).
If you recall last year Scott won “Young Highland Chef of the Year” and with a move back to Blantyre, he brings quality and fresh ideas, a recipe for success. Scott is also one of the deserving nominees in this years Blantyre Oscars.

Speaking exclusively to Blantyre Telegraph this evening, Scott told us, “We’re working on a great menu at the moment. Restaurant style. Hopefully my food goes down well with the people of Blantyre. I can’t wait to get into the kitchen and start cooking. All home baked fresh good food and to show off some skills that I’ve learned from le gavroche.”
This exciting development is full of potential and local residents are already excited at the prospect of a quality restaurant soon opening at High Blantyre Cross.
