D-Day Commemoration

It’s 75 years to the day since D-Day, a significant WW2 event which started a turning point of the war.

Today, we remember those who died and indeed all those soldiers and military personnel who fought bravely for our freedom during that battle.

The Normandy landings on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 was the start of the Allied invasion of Normandy. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Blantyre remembers and hope you will join us in offering thanks.
