Motorists are reminded that roadworks are still ongoing on the M74 near junction 5, Hamilton. Essential bridge works are taking place until 26th July.
Transport Scotland has issued the following advice for motorists:
• Road users are advised to avoid the area or use alternative mode of transport
• Significant delays expected on the M74 on approach to Junction 5 Raith from 8pm for approximately ten days (the work began on Tuesday, July 16)
• A contraflow will be in place on the north and southbound carriageways until 6am on Thursday, July 25, between Junction 6 Hamilton/Motherwell and Bothwell Services.
The M74 is currently reduced to 2 lanes in either direction both north and southbound.
Best plan ahead, allow extra time or avoid altogether meantime.
