The A725 EK Expressway is to close eastbound at High Blantyre for a full weekend in August due to necessary resurfacing works.
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will begin the resurfacing on Friday, August 9, at 8pm and the road will re-open on Monday, August 12, at 6am.
The closure will stretch from the Douglas Street slip to the Auchinraith Roundabout slip (as if heading towards Raith)
Tony Chambers, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead on the resurfacing programme said: “This important programme will see the resurfacing of approximately 700m of carriageway, between Douglas Street and the A725 junction with the B7012.
“Our inspections have identified that the carriageway is in need of repair, and implementing a weekend road closure is the most efficient and least disruptive way to complete these works.”
July and August have been busy for resurfacing works as South Lanarkshire Council get work done before the schools return.
