It is with sadness we have learned of the passing of Blantyre man, David Black. He was 40 years old.
David had been attacked at a party in Rutherglen in 2014. His injuries were severe leaving him mostly bed bound and only able to communicate by blinking.
His mother and partner Helen Gillies both faced a constant fight to get David the level of rehabilitation, and essential safety physio equipment, needed for the former landscape gardener to “have some quality of life.”
Following a charity event at Blantyre Miners’ Welfare, the family were able to buy the physio equipment required and David was later offered an adapted house in Blantyre.
The much loved dad will be missed very much. Our deepest sympathies go out to all of David’s family and friends.
