We’ve learned that 559 children were supported by Hamilton District Foodbank this Christmas. An alarming figure, significantly up from last year.
During December, 1335 people were assisted with food, toiletries and festive items. 559 of them were children.
It’s shocking enough that foodbanks exist at all in Lanarkshire with a growing number of families relying on support from others.
Blantyre people can get involved. Donations can be dropped off at the Nazarene Hall at Elm Street, Blantyre. The Hall is open for incoming food donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am until 2pm.
