Last night we received a fantastic cash donation of £100.00 from Gino’s Chip Shop on Main Street, High Blantyre. The family who own the shop wanted to do something to support the community in Blantyre and left that generous donation in our hands.
So today, Wednesday 15 April, with the money and the kind assistance from Asda, we ordered just over £100 worth of toiletries, collecting them earlier today and transported them up to Mick McCann at the Blantyre Miner’s Welfare on Calder Street. Mick is collecting toiletries to take to Hairmyres for covid patients and Udston Hospital for recovery patients.
So, Gino’s donation was entirely used for Toiletries for hospitalised patients locally. A very worthwhile cause, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Do YOU have a story about the kindness of local businesses during these strange times.
