It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of local man, James McManus.
James (also known as Jimmy) sadly passed away of natural causes in the early hours of Tuesday, 14th April 2020 whilst being comforted by his loving wife, Sheena.
Jimmy was born on 21st March 1930, living a long, full life and recently celebrated his 90th birthday. He was a Blantyre man most of his days, and was the pub landlord of the Sliver Tassie and Papa Franks many moons ago. Jimmy or GG as he was known to his great grand kids, is survived by his wonderful wife Sheena, three children Paul, Martin and Bernadette, grand children Liza, Katie, Andrew, Sarah-Jane, Hannah and Marcus, as well as an army of great grand kids.
His daughter Bernadette added, “He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Our family would ask you to raise a wee glass in remembrance of the Original Gentleman – James McManus.”
Our thoughts go out to all of Jimmy’s family and friends at this difficult time.
