Infirmary Tuck Shop

Blantyre resident Laura Duffy (33) has started a FREE tuck shop at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, all from her own pocket!

Laura works as a nurse the hospital in the acute admissions unit and started off with £100 (after a small windfall). Using the money, she set up a free service for 68 patients to access the tuck shop. With help from colleagues, she has recently been distributing tuck shop goodies around the wards, something appreciated by all the patients.

The brilliant initiative was started when it was seen that patients families couldn’t get in to visit them. This kindness stretching a long way!
