Lots of messages about this today, asking why Main Street is currently taped off. Very briefly, an accident took place on Main Street around 2pm today, Tuesday 4th August 2020.
A vehicle hit the side of the bookmakers. It’s understood the driver had taken ill. No other vehicles or drivers were involved. As people came to help, the man was taken into the bookmakers and seated until emergency services arrived.
The car is now cleared, though the area remains taped off. Contrary to some posts online, there was nothing more sinister about the taped area or police presence.
We sincerely hope the man is ok and made a good recovery.
