What do you make of the Pubs Closing?

So, Lanarkshire Pubs and Restaurants will close temporarily on Friday 9th October at 6pm.

Due to higher levels of infection in the central belt, there are tighter restrictions being imposed here. All licensed premises – with the exception of hotels for residents – will be required to close indoors AND outdoors, though takeaways will be permitted. Hotels will remain open for residents.

For Blantyre, it means the temporary closure of Pubs and Restaurants preventing seating indoors (and outdoors in beer gardens) until and inclusive of Sunday 25th October 2020. Though some businesses may choose to adapt again as they did in lockdown and deliver.

A clarification around cafes is made here. Cafes which don’t have an alcohol license will be able to stay open until 6pm to support social isolation.

Have your say. Do these changes affect YOU? Is this the right call? Have the government gone far enough with support for businesses affected?
