What is it?

Beat the Street is an inclusive community-based game which allows everyone to explore their community through active travel whilst collecting points for themselves or for a team to be in for a chance to win great prizes.

What are the benefits of taking part in BTS?

–          Being outdoors is a proven way to alleviate stress and anxiety.

–          Opportunity to spend time in green/blue spaces.

–          Allows players to explore their local area.

–          Being active has a range of health benefits for both the body and the mind.

What do you need to play?

Primary school age children require fobs to take part in the game- they will receive these directly from their school.

All other members of the community need a card and a map which are available from our distribution points listed below.

Health and Safety

Beat the Street is Covid safe and here’s why;

–          Our “Beat Boxes” will be regularly sanitised by our field engineers.

–          “Beat Boxes” have also been given a boost in their transmission, meaning players don’t need to touch the boxes to collect points as the boxes are “contactless”. ( simply hover the card/fob in front of the sensor until it beeps/flashes)

–          We have 2 metre chalk markings in place at each “beat box” to ensure social distancing is adhered to.

–          Everyone is encouraged to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds before and after playing.

–          Don’t share cards/fobs with anyone else.

–          Only take part in family/ class bubbles.

Distribution Points have been set up in local small stores, please ensure you follow the government guidelines and only pick up your card & map when visiting for an essential shopping trip.
