Remember the children’s slide from the former David Livingstone playpark?
Well, it was in great condition, so we tied up with Hillhouse Residents and Tenants Association and arranged for them to take ownership, saving it from being scrapped. Their committee recently gained lease of one and a half acres of land in Hillhouse and have created an excellent children’s playpark and recreational area for all groups to enjoy.
The old chute was transported from the grounds of David Livingstone Birthplace a few miles away to Hillhouse and after some hard work by all involved, the chute now forms part of the play equipment for yet more children to enjoy. Of course it needed tested first as these pictures show!
Like the rest of the recreational ground, it’s now ready for a 6 week summer programme for the kids!
