As we publish this article this morning (Sunday), don’t let that quiet, calm weather out there fool you! This is indeed…..the “calm before the storm”
Weather is going to liven up considerably this afternoon. Storm Corrie is expected to be worse than Storm Malik with a likelihood of localised flooding, tree and storm damage and disruption to travel. We would advise staying away from large trees is out walking or driving, as some trees may already have been weakened in the previous winds.
For Central Scotland, winds are expected to pick up by 2pm today, strengthening throughout the afternoon and be pretty much gale force by this evening. The fiercest winds will last right through to early morning on Monday, with both Monday and Tuesday remaining very windy.
Amber and Yellow Weather warnings have been put in place for Scotland for the coming 2 days.
