Burnbank Road Accident

A teenage boy is in hospital after being knocked down in Burbank. The 16-year-old pedestrian was struck by a Renault Clio around 8pm on the evening of Friday, January 20.

The incident occurred at Burnbank Road in Hamilton. An emergency response promptly arrived and the boy was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police are investigating the crash and are urging any witnesses or drivers in the area with dash-cam footage to get in touch. 

Sergeant Craig McDonald said: “Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident who has not yet spoken to police to contact us. I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam from drivers who were in the area of Burnbank Road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact road policing officers through 101 quoting reference number 3491 of January 20.”

We hope the lad makes a speedy recovery. The driver and his two passengers were uninjured.
