A new model of intensive care for the highest risk, pre-term babies has been announced.
Three specialist intensive care neonatal units will be based in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The thinking is that larger units are able to care for more babies.
This means that the Neo-Natal unit at University Hospital Wishaw would be downgraded from a level 3 to a level 2.
A petition has been raised to Stop downgrade of Neo-Natal care at University Hospital Wishaw. Many local people are supporting this, following their own experience of premature children.
