Review of Facebook Pages

Towards the end of each year, we like to put up a few polls on social media about what we could potentially do to improve Telegraph, ensure features are there which YOU want and ensure the charitable news service we provide is as professional and accurate as it can be.

Many hundreds of people took part in our polls this weekend and the results now in.

It appears we’re still responsive with messages, which is great to hear! Readers on our Live chat group page overwhelmingly voted to ensure only businesses based in Blantyre are advertising again voting to prevent others from posting on the page who have businesses elsewhere. We agree fully with that outcome, promoting local businesses first and foremost, so that too will remain unchanged in 2024.

Finally we asked where people get their main source of Blantyre news from and were thrilled to see 95% of people reliant upon Blantyre Telegraph, with just 3% getting their news from Hamilton Advertiser and 2% from other sources. This keeps us highly motivated but means we need to continue to be accurate, professional and informative, especially with a growing, engaged, large audience of 23,000+ in Blantyre and beyond.

Annual reviews like these are great! They ensure the service being provided is what YOU ask for, rather than us imposing rules and other stipulations. YOU are in control. It’s YOUR service. For YOU! You want something to change, we’ll do that. As we enter our 13th year online, 2024 promises continued coverage of local and regional news on a daily basis as our spare time permits. Thanks to everybody who took part in the review.
