What an amazing festive, fun day at Agnews Family Shopper & Billy’s cafe/Bistro!
Today, local businesses and the community rallied to put on a wonderful Christmassy event for many local children.
The venue today, Sunday 17th December was Agnews Family Shopper and Billy’s Cafe Bistro on Glasgow Road, Blantyre where a Christmas lunch was put on for the young people of Terminal 1 and Hyper Cyber.
More children were there than expected, but none were left out! As well as food, there was singing and games and then a special visit from Santa, to the delight of everybody there!
We were delighted to help out by donating £300 from our Simm Endeavour Funding to help fund the event and knew this would be a fantastic way to help spread a lot of festive cheer and make a lot of kids happy.
Speaking this evening of today’s success, David Agnew told us, “It was a great success! There were a lot of older kids here this year and we didn’t want to get them toys, so we got hairdryers, hair straighteners, curling tongs, aftershave, perfume, ear buds, gaming head sets, smart watches, snuggle hoodies, £25 Xbox and PlayStation gift cards and loads of toys for the younger kids. And a big tub of party sweets from Swizzle for every kid!”
Well done to Santa, the elves, David and his staff for organising such a great day! Such community spirit! What is it they say at this time of year? …..It’s a wonderful life!
