Dealing with 2 Child Benefit Cap

There’s good news for Scottish families with more than 2 children. If you currently receive child benefit, the Scottish Government have vowed to deal with the 2 child benefit cap, entitling benefits for 3 or more children.

The news comes from Scottish Finance Secretary Shona Robison. As part of the Scottish budget, she’s pledged to put an end to the deeply unpopular two-child benefit cap imposed in Scotland. This change will mean more support for larger Scottish families in need.

Robison’s Budget proposals will also save those taxpayers money, compared to those south of the border, where the full cap will remain.

In other budget news, there will be funding for local government as Scottish councils are all set to receive a massive boost in funding worth billions of pounds. The Scottish Government said it will mean local authorities will have more flexibility. If this is the case, there will be no hiding or excuses as to how they intend to spend it!

We’ll be keeping an eye on these promising updates and what the budget means for Blantyre and Lanarkshire! #ScotlandBenefits #TaxSavings #CouncilTaxFairness
