Calcium Intake Linked to 20% Lower Bowel Cancer Risk

Statement from Cancer Research UK. “A new study we funded at the University of Oxford shows that having the amount of calcium in a large glass of milk every day could lower bowel cancer risk by nearly 20%.

In the largest study ever conducted on the links between diet and bowel cancer, calcium from both dairy and non-dairy sources had a similar effect.

These results help to highlight the importance of a healthy balanced diet in reducing cancer risk and supporting long-term health.

Research has found that more than half of bowel cancer cases are preventable. New findings, like this study by Oxford Population Health, are an important step towards ensuring fewer people are impacted by cancer in the future.

Amazing work from the University of Oxford”
