How Blantyre Can Spend £50,000: Share Your Ideas

South Lanarkshire Council is allocating £50,000 of funding to each Council ward, through the, ‘Local Action Fund’.

How this funding is spent in areas is to be determined purely by local Councillors. For Blantyre, that will be Councillors Razzaq, Chalmers and Thomson.

Blantyre Community Council have put out an appeal asking residents how this money should be spent. As always, local Councillors have been invited to the next public meeting, which takes place on April 23rd, 2025.

Ideas are needed. How could this money be used in Blantyre? How could it be invested in our Town to have the greatest impact?

The Community Council hope to gather as many suggestions as possible. If you’d rather share your thoughts privately, you can email them at – BlantyreCC@outlook.com.

Suggestions will then be collated and shared with Councillors on the 23rd of April. £50,000 is not going to stretch too far, so it’s important it’s spent wisely. More now than ever, we need to work together to make Blantyre the best that it can be.
