Charlie Stevenson Wins Award for Eco-Friendly Tartan Design

Congratulations to High Blantyre Primary School P1 pupil, Charlie Stevenson on his fantastic award winning tartan design during Eco Schools week!

Charlie’s design incorporated green to represent local plants, blue for the school uniform and the nearby River Calder, purple for local flowers and lavender grown in the playground and red for the school building and surrounding houses.

Andrea Gabriel, education and learning manager at Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: “Throughout the last few months we’ve had so much fun celebrating 30 years of Eco-Schools, with visits to some of our amazing schools and now this set of challenges.

“It’s been so inspiring to see their creativity and love for Eco-Schools and it wasn’t easy to select a winner.”

Well done Charlie. Your design looks amazing.
