Local Councils are spending an estimated £50m to install over 3,000 EV charging points for electric vehicles.
The new electric charging points are to be installed across the Glasgow region over the next 5 years including in Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and here in South Lanarkshire.
The cost of the the installation and equipment is to be met by private sector funding with a small amount of grant money from Transport Scotland, meaning its not coming directly from the council or council tax.
