Long queues have formed especially at rush hour on the approach to the M74, coming from Cumbernauld, as traffic narrows down into 1 lane, coned off at the bend leading to the M74 motorway at Junction 1. Only one direction southbound is affected at the tie in from the M73 to M74, a real pinch point where traffic merges at the best of times.
