Some places in the world have now started to welcome in the New Year! At 10am GMT this morning , it was midnight at the island of Kiritimati in the Pacific – the first place in the world to see in the New Year.
Auckland has just had a spectacular fireworks display in New Zealand. Here in the UK, we’ve still got Hogmanay to go.
In Edinburgh, about 10,000 fireworks are ready for Scotland’s main display, a set up which took 4 days to layout, and not forgetting the clean up afterwards. In London, crowds of over 100,000 people are expected to line the streets for what promises to be a huge display this year at the London Eye.
